What is Albothyl concentrate and what is it used for?

Albothyl concentrate is a germicidal medicine for use in the vagina.It is used to treat bacterial inflammation of the vagina.

What should you consider before using Albothyl concentrate?

Albothyl concentrate must not be used if you are hypersensitive to Policresulen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Albothyl concentrate.Sexual intercourse should be avoided during treatment and for 10 days afterwards.Avoid washing with irritating soaps.Albothyl concentrate does not work against HIV-infections or sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea or syphilis.It should not be used during menstruation.If accidentally swallowed or comes into contact with eyes, immediately drink water or rinse your eyes and seek medical attention.Textiles and leather should be cleaned with water immediately after contact.

Albothyl concentrate is not intended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18 or in women after menopause, as there is no experience for these age groups.

The use of other vaginal medicines should be avoided during treatment.Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you are taking.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.There are no studies on the risk of use during pregnancy in humans.It is not known whether the active ingredient passes into breast milk.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

How to use Albothyl concentrate?

Always use this medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is up to 50 ml of solution per application.The application is carried out by your doctor by inserting a gauze pad soaked with Albothyl concentrate into the vagina and leaving it there under slight pressure for 1-3 minutes.The application takes place twice in total, 3-4 days apart.Talk to your doctor if the symptoms do not subside afterwards.

If you have used more than you should, there are no known signs of overdose.If you forget to use it, talk to your doctor about whether you should use it again.If you stop using it, the inflammation may come back.

What side effects are possible?

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include dryness of the vagina, burning in the vagina, shedding of pieces of mucous membrane, yeast infection of the vagina, itching of the external genitalia, discomfort, feeling of a foreign body in the vagina and hives.If severe local irritation occurs, use should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

How should Albothyl concentrate be stored?

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the carton and container.After first opening, Albothyl concentrate does not last longer than 3 months.Do not throw away medicines via wastewater or household waste.Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.
