Instructions for use for Medisana Meditouch 2 test strips

Medisana's Meditouch 2 test strips are used in combination with the Meditouch 2 blood glucose meter to measure blood sugar levels.This measurement is taken on the fingertip, alternatively on the heel of the hand or forearm in adults.This is a quick, electrochemical determination of blood sugar levels.The FAD--binding glucose dehydrogenase contained in the test strip converts the glucose present in the blood into gluconolactone.The measuring device measures the current released, which is proportional to the blood sugar volume.

The system is intended for external use (in vitro) and can be used both for self-use by people with diabetes and for monitoring clinical diabetes control by medically trained personnel.

Chemical components

Each test strip contains the following reagents: FAD glucose dehydrogenase (Aspergillus sp., 2.0 IE/test strip) with a proportion of 6% by weight, potassium ferrocyanide with a proportion of 56% by weight and non-relative components with a proportion of 38% by weight.Please note the instructions for use.
