The Norta Latex Catheter with Nelaton Tip is a balloon catheter designed specifically for adults.It has a hard valve, a length of 41 cm and a size of 16 Ch with a capacity of 10 ml. This catheter is particularly suitable for the treatment of acute voiding disorders with short lying times.

Material and properties

Complication-free catheterization depends largely on the material properties of the catheter.The Norta latex catheter is sufficiently stable, flexible and soft.Particularly noteworthy is its good biocompatibility.The catheter can be fixed easily and securely and there is no risk of injury to the urethra when removed.Syringes and commercially available urine collection systems can be safely connected to the catheter.

The siliconized surface of the transurethral indwelling bladder catheter protects the mucous membrane during insertion.The edges of the eyes are smooth, which means there is no risk of trauma and removal takes place without risk of injury.The orientation of the Tiemann tip and the protrusion on the funnel match, so that the orientation remains visible when the catheter is in position.The symmetrical balloons have a 50% safety reserve.

The Norta latex catheter is well tolerated and has a low risk of germ migration, especially when used with a closed drainage system.It consists of repeatedly cleaned latex and a siliconized surface.It should be noted that the catheter contains natural rubber latex, which can cause allergies.

Areas of application

The Norta latex catheter is used for acute and chronic bladder emptying disorders.It is also suitable for intra- and postoperative urinary diversion as well as urine measurement, for example in intensive therapy or infusion therapy.

Duration of application

The duration of use of the catheter is limited to short periods of time, up to a maximum of 5 days.
