Collomack Topical Solution - for corns and calluses

Collomack topical is a topical medicine with a horn-dissolving effect that helps in the removal of corns and calluses.The active ingredient salicylic acid quickly penetrates the skin and leads to a gradual softening and detachment of the stratum corneum.This product can be used in children over 1 year old, adolescents and adults.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

The skin on our feet has a stratum corneum that can withstand daily stress.However, shoes that are too tight or ill-fitting can cause thick, cracked and brittle calluses to form, sometimes even causing painful corns.Collomack topical with the active ingredient salicylic acid gradually removes the overproduced skin on the calluses and supports gentle flaking.At the same time it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects.The active ingredient penetrates the skin quickly and gradually breaks down the thick calluses.The first successes can be seen after just 3-4 days of treatment.

1 g of solution contains 174 mg of salicylic acid.The active ingredient is salicylic acid.The other ingredients are acetone, ethyl cellulose, copovidone, medium chain triglycerides and purified water.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.The product must not be used on infants.

Dosage

Collomack topical is applied to the affected skin areas once or twice a day.Remove the solution from the bottle using the spatula and use the spatula to apply the solution to the areas to be treated.Then allow the treated areas to dry.To protect the surrounding skin, covering with zinc paste or petroleum jelly is recommended.A 3 to 4 day treatment is usually enough to remove corns and calluses after a warm foot bath.The treatment can be repeated if necessary.In adults, a daily dose of 2 g of salicylic acid (equivalent to 1.1 bottles of 10 ml each) may be used.For children, a daily dose of 0.2 g salicylic acid (corresponding to 1 g or 1.1 ml solution) must not be exceeded.An application period of one week should not be exceeded.

Application

Collomack topical is used for use on the skin.The solution is applied to the affected areas using the spatula provided and then allowed to dry.A covering with zinc paste or petroleum jelly can be used to protect the surrounding skin.

Notes

Particular caution is required when using Collomack topical if you suffer from a skin disease that is associated with redness and inflammation or with superficial weeping changes in the skin.The skin's permeability to salicylic acid can be increased in skin diseases.Collomack topical must not come into contact with mucous membranes, in particular contact with the eyes should be avoided.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.During pregnancy, this preparation may only be used on small areas (area smaller than 5 cm²).If used as directed, breastfeeding may be carried out during treatment.Accidental ingestion of salicylic acid by the infant through contact with the treated area of the body must be avoided.
