Summary: KONAKION MM is a medicine containing the active ingredient phytomenadione (vitamin K1). It is used to treat vitamin K deficiency haemorrhages and to prevent vitamin K deficiency states. It can be used for the prophylaxis of vitamin K deficiency in newborns born to mothers who have taken certain medications. It is also used in patients with risk factors for vitamin K deficiency as soon as the INR-value rises above the normal limit. The dosage may vary depending on the area of application and patient age. The drug can be administered orally or intravenously. Side effects are rare and may include allergic reactions or phlebitis. The drug should be stored at room temperature and protected from light. When using the ampoule, residual solutions must be discarded after opening. It contains the active ingredient phytomenadione and other ingredients such as glycocholic acid and (3-sn-phosphatidyl)choline from soybeans.
