Area of application

The Urgoband short-stretch bandage is used in compression therapy for the long-term treatment of chronic venous diseases, thromboembolic venous diseases, edema and other indications.The product is only indicated in compression therapy with an ABPI of 0.8 - 1.3.It can also be used as a support and relief bandage for injuries to the musculoskeletal system.No prescription is required for this product.

Product features

The Urgoband short-stretch bandage is a compression bandage with a short stretch and an elasticity of approx. 90%.It is permeable to air, skin-friendly and longitudinally elastic.The bandage is woven-edged and washable and retains its elasticity even after prolonged use.It is characterized by high work pressure.

Contraindications

The Urgoband short-stretch bandage must not be used in advanced peripheral arterial disease (if one of these parameters applies: ABPI < 0.5, ankle arterial pressure < 60 mmHg, toe pressure < 30mmHg or TcPO2 < 20 mmHg dorsum of the foot), congestive heart failure (NYHA III + IV), septic phlebitis or phlegmasia coerulea dolens.

Relative contraindications

Relative contraindications are pronounced weeping dermatoses, intolerance to compression material, severe sensory disorders of the extremities, advanced peripheral neuropathy (e.g. in diabetes mellitus) and primary chronic polyarthritis.

Note

The Urgoband short-stretch bandage must not be used directly on open wounds.It is only suitable for use on intact skin.
