Nenelax® 0.5 laxative suppositories for infants

Nenelax® 0.5 laxative suppositories are a laxative specially developed for infants to gently relieve constipation.These suppositories are used in the rectum and are particularly gentle because they only work where they are needed, without affecting the body's water balance or putting systemic strain on the organism.They promote intestinal movement and make bowel movements easier without causing habituation or known side effects.

Areas of application

Nenelax® 0.5 laxative suppositories are used for constipation.They can also be used to empty the bowels before rectal examinations or for hemorrhoids and anal fissures.Constipation in infants can have various causes, such as switching from breast milk to puree or illness.

Mode of action

The active ingredient glycerol is hardly absorbed in the rectum and removes water from the intestinal mucosa.This causes water to be retained in the rectum, which triggers movement and the bowel movement reflex.Glycerol makes the stool softer and more slippery, so the effect occurs around 60 minutes after application.

Ingredients of Nenelax® 0.5 laxative suppositories for infants: 1 suppository contains 0.5 g glycerol as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are gelatin and purified water.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used in cases of intestinal obstruction (ileus) and abdominal pain of unknown origin or in cases of known hypersensitivity (allergy) to glycerol or one of the other components of the preparation.

Dosage

Immediately before use, moisten the suppository slightly with water and then insert it, tip first, deep into the anus, i.e. into the rectum.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: 1 to 2 suppositories daily (corresponding to 0.5 to 1.0 g glycerol per day).

Please store Nenelax® 0.5 laxative suppositories for infants protected from moisture and not above 25 °C.No prescription is required for this product.

Application

If necessary, 1 suppository (suppository) is inserted into the anus once or twice a day about 20 to 30 minutes before the intended emptying.To remove a suppository from the strip pack, please open it by pulling the foil apart from the tip of the suppository.Immediately before use, moisten the suppository slightly with water and then insert it, tip first, deep into the anus, i.e.h.into the rectum.

Nenelax® 0.5 laxative suppositories should only be used in acute cases, i.e.h.be applied if necessary.If you or your child do not feel better or feel worse after 7 days, contact your doctor.

Nenelax® 0.5 laxative suppositories must not be used if you have intestinal obstruction (ileus) and abdominal pain of unknown cause or if you or your child are allergic to glycerol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
