Area of application

Medyn film-coated tablets are a vitamin preparation that is used in the event of a proven, combined deficiency of vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid that cannot be compensated for by diet.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Medyn film-coated tablets contain the following active ingredients: 0.01 mg cyanocobalamin, 0.2 mg folic acid and 8 mg pyridoxine hydrochloride, which corresponds to 6.58 mg pyridoxine.The following excipients are also included: citric acid 1-water, crospovidone, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x-water, iron (III) oxide, red, lactose 1-water, macrogol 3350, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, sodium citrate 2-water, poly(vinyl alcohol), povidone K30 and talc.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.It should not be taken in case of allergies to pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, cyanocobalamin or other components of the drug, in megaloblastic anemia due to isolated vitamin B12 deficiency and in isolated folic acid deficiency.

Dosage and intake

The usual dose is three tablets, which can be taken evenly throughout the day.It can be taken regardless of meals.The duration of application is not limited.

Patient information

If you take daily doses of more than 50 mg of vitamin B6 for a long time or if you take doses in the gram range for a short time, tingling and pins and needles may occur on your hands and feet.In such cases, a doctor should be consulted.No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the recommended daily intake for vitamin B6 is 2.4-2.6 mg.There are no systematic studies on the use of vitamin B6 in doses above the stated daily requirement.Therefore, the medicine should only be used after careful risk/benefit assessment by the treating doctor.High doses of vitamin B6 can inhibit milk production.
