Cutimed Siltec Sorbact is a highly absorbent antimicrobial foam dressing with a silicone adhesive edge.It combines the effective exudate management of Cutimed Siltec with the active ingredient-free, bacteria-binding effect of Cutimed Sorbact.Thanks to the purely physical principle of action, Cutimed Sorbact binds and removes bacteria without releasing antimicrobial agents.The special Sorbact coating gives the product strong hydrophobic properties.Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact tissue.With every dressing change, the number of germs in the wound is reduced and optimal conditions are created for the natural wound healing process.

There are no known mechanisms for the development of resistance in bacteria or fungi to Cutimed Sorbact.Since bacteria and fungi are not killed, there is no additional release of endotoxins, which can prevent delayed healing.The dressing features effective exudate absorption through superabsorbent foam and reduces the risk of maceration through excellent vertical absorption.In addition, the duration of application is unlimited during the course of therapy.

Cutimed Siltec Sorbact consists of an acetate fabric with a bacteria-binding coating and a highly absorbent, open-pored polyurethane foam with a skin-friendly silicone adhesive edge.The formula is latex-free and not made with natural rubber latex.

Areas of application

Cutimed Siltec Sorbact is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected wounds.It is used for moderately to heavily exuding wounds or for the prophylaxis of wounds at risk of infection.These include chronic wounds such as venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure ulcers.It can also be used to treat postoperative wounds and wound dehiscences, traumatic wounds, wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses, and fungal skin infections.

Change of dressing

The dressing should be changed when it is visibly soaked with wound secretion.
