Cutimed Siltec Sorbact is a highly absorbent antimicrobial foam dressing with a silicone adhesive edge.It combines the effective exudate management of Cutimed Siltec with the active ingredient-free, bacteria-binding effect of Cutimed Sorbact.Thanks to the purely physical principle of action, Cutimed Sorbact binds and removes bacteria without releasing antimicrobial agents.The special Sorbact coating gives the product strong hydrophobic properties.Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact tissue.This reduces the number of germs in the wound with every dressing change and creates optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process.

Cutimed Siltec Sorbact offers several advantages.There are no known mechanisms for the development of resistance in bacteria or fungi to Cutimed Sorbact.Because bacteria and fungi are not killed, there is no additional release of endotoxins, which can prevent delayed healing.The dressing is characterized by effective exudate absorption thanks to super-absorbent foam.It also reduces the risk of maceration through excellent vertical absorption.The duration of application is unlimited in the course of therapy.

Areas of application

Cutimed Siltec Sorbact is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected wounds.It is used for moderately to heavily exuding wounds or for the prophylaxis of wounds at risk of infection.These include chronic wounds such as venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure ulcers.Postoperative wounds and wound dehiscences, traumatic wounds, wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses, and fungal skin infections can also be treated.

Change of dressing

The dressing should be changed when it is visibly soaked with wound secretion.
