Instructions for use for Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive B Gel-V.7x8.5 cm sticky, 12 pcs
Product features
Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive B combines the special Sorbact principle with flexible exudate management. It binds germs through hydrophobic interaction and does not use chemical antimicrobial substances. The special Sorbact coating makes the product highly water-repellent.Many harmful bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore adhere to Sorbact tissue. This reduces the number of germs in the wound every time the dressing is changed, which creates optimal conditions for natural wound healing. The hydrogel matrix of Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive B also keeps the wound environment moist and promotes autolytic debridement in fibrin-coated and necrotic wounds.
The advantages are that there are no known mechanisms for the development of resistance in bacteria or fungi to Cutimed Sorbact. It does not kill bacteria and fungi, which means no additional endotoxins are released and avoids delay in healing. The duration of use is unlimited during the course of therapy and it promotes autolytic debridement.
Sorbact is a registered trademark of ABIGO medical AB.Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive B consists of an acetate fabric with a bacteria-binding coating, an absorbent hydropolymer matrix with a semi-permeable polyurethane cover film and a hydrogel-based adhesive edge. The formula is latex-free and not made with natural rubber latex.
Application
Cutimed Sorbact Hydroactive B is suitable for all clean, colonized, contaminated or infected wounds and is used for weakly to moderately exuding wounds. These include chronic wounds such as venous, arterial or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure ulcers, postoperative wounds and wound dehiscences, traumatic wounds and wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses. However, it is contraindicated for wound cavities.
Change of dressing
The dressing change depends on the amount of exudate as well as the overall condition of the wound and the wound surroundings and should take place after 4 days at the latest.
