Norta® Silicone is a balloon catheter made of 100% silicone that is used for transurethral bladder drainage.The catheter offers a high level of comfort and efficient drainage performance.Larger clots and sediments can easily pass through the all-silicone catheter.Norta® silicone is both stable and flexible, which protects the mucous membrane during insertion.An integrated X-ray contrast strip enables the catheter position to be checked.The catheter can be safely connected to syringes and commercially available urine collection systems.

Norta® silicone is particularly suitable for long-term transurethral urinary diversion.The homogeneous, smooth surface of the catheter repels the adherence of germs and the deposition of salts.Due to its material composition made of silicone with a small proportion of polypropylene, Norta® silicone is ideal if latex allergies are suspected.Once unblocked, the balloon lies flat against the catheter shaft, making removal of the catheter easier and preventing injury to the urethra.In addition, Norta® silicone has a low risk of retrograde migration of germs.

Areas of application

The Norta silicone catheter is used for acute and chronic bladder emptying disorders.It is also used for intra- and postoperative urinary diversion as well as urinary diversion for urine measurement, for example in intensive care or infusion therapies.It is also used for postoperative care after radical prostatectomy and cystectomy.

Duration of application

The catheter can be used for long-term use of up to 6 weeks.
