Directions for use of the product Advantage 40 Dog: Advantage is a solution for dropping onto the skin of dogs, cats and pet rabbits for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations. The active ingredient imidacloprid kills fleas within 24 hours of application and is effective for 4 weeks in dogs and 3-4 weeks in cats and up to one week in pet rabbits. Advantage can also be used as part of the treatment for allergic dermatitis caused by flea bites. It must not be used in puppies under 8 weeks of age, rabbits for human consumption or younger ornamental rabbits. Persons with hypersensitivity to the active substance should avoid its use. Side effects may include temporary hair loss, redness, itching and/or inflammatory reactions at the application site. In cats, restlessness, excessive salivation and nervous symptoms may also occur. No negative interactions with other medicinal products have been noted. It is important to read the package leaflet and consult a veterinarian or pharmacist if you have any questions.
