Areas of application
Arnica comp./Apis Cream is an anthroposophic medicine that is used for diseases of the musculoskeletal system.It is used for acute diseases of the rheumatic type as well as for inflammatory processes accompanying degenerative diseases in the musculoskeletal system.
Active ingredients and other ingredients
The cream contains the following active ingredients: Aconitum napellus, Arnica montana, Betulae folium, Mandragora, Apis mellifica and Rosmarini aetheroleum.Other ingredients include refined sesame oil, lanolin, yellow wax, lanolin alcohols and purified water.
Application
Arnica comp./Apis cream should always be used exactly as directed by your doctor.The usual dose for adults and children aged 12 and over is a strand of cream 2-3 cm long 2-3 times a day, which is rubbed into the skin in the painful areas.An airtight cover or wrap should be avoided.Contact of the cream with open wounds, eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided.After use, hands should be washed thoroughly with soap.
The treating doctor decides on the duration of use.If the symptoms do not improve after a treatment period of around a week, you should consult your doctor.If an application is missed, a double dose should not be used.
Contraindications and precautions
Arnica comp./Apis cream must not be used if you are hypersensitive to arnica and other composite plants, to rosemary oil, sesame oil or to any of the other ingredients of the drug.The cream must also not be used on open wounds and acutely inflamed or eczematous skin areas.It is not suitable for children under 12 years of age due to the ingredients cineole, atropine and scopolamine.
A doctor should be consulted in the case of acute conditions that are accompanied by redness, swelling or overheating of joints, as well as in the case of persistent or periodically recurring symptoms.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should always consult your doctor before using any medicine.Because it contains rosemary oil, the cream should not be applied to the breast area while breastfeeding.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Arnica comp./Apis cream can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Skin reactions may occur which subside after the preparation is discontinued.Sesame oil can rarely cause severe allergic reactions.In appropriately sensitized people, rosemary oil can trigger hypersensitivity reactions, including shortness of breath.
Storage and shelf life
The medicine should not be stored above 25°C.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the tube and folding box.
