Hay flowers, the flowers of various grasses that grow in meadows, are used for bath products and wraps.A handful of these flowers contain around 50 different flower varieties, resulting in a high level of species diversity and a variety of natural active ingredients.These active ingredients care for the body and support the treatment of rheumatic complaints, sciatica, tension, joint problems, colic and lumbago.

Hay flowers are an old home remedy that was already used successfully by Pastor Kneipp.They have a supportive effect on various complaints, promote metabolism, calm and purify.Through the heat, the hay flowers release their diverse active ingredients and essential oils, which are absorbed through the skin and breathing.

Application

The hay flowers can be used to make a decoction that can be used as a bath additive or for cushions.

Bath additive

To make a bath additive, pour 1 liter of cold water over 100 g of hay flowers and bring to the boil.Let the brew steep for about 30 minutes, strain and add to the bath water.The optimal bathing temperature is 35 to 38°C and the duration should be between 10 and 15 minutes.You should then rest in bed with a warm blanket for at least an hour to enhance the relaxing effect.

Hay flower wrap

For a hay flower wrap, prepare the stock as described and dip a linen cloth in it.Place the wrap directly on the painful area, place a towel over it and then a warm blanket.The optimal exposure time is about an hour.

The contents consist of dried hay flowers from organic farming that have not been sprayed.The botanical name is Gramineae.
