Doppelherz system Ginkgo 240 mg film-coated tablets contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves as the active ingredient.This herbal medicine is used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia.No prescription is required for this product.

Important notes

Doppelherz system Ginkgo 240 mg film-coated tablets contain lactose and glucose.Please only take the product after consulting your doctor if you know that you have an intolerance to certain sugars.

Doppelherz system Ginkgo 240 mg film-coated tablets are used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia.This can help relieve poor concentration and memory problems.

Dosage and application

Adults 18 years and older should take 1/2 tablet twice daily, morning and evening.It can be taken regardless of meals.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.Treatment should last at least 8 weeks.You should not use the medicine for longer than 3 months without medical advice.

Contraindications

Doppelherz system Ginkgo 240 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo-biloba dry extract or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The product should also not be used during pregnancy.Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should generally not take the medicine.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Doppelherz system Ginkgo 240 mg film-coated tablets can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.Possible side effects include headache, dizziness, diarrhea, pelvic pain, nausea and vomiting.In rare cases, bleeding from individual organs, hypersensitivity reactions and allergic skin reactions may occur.

Interactions

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.Ginkgo can affect the way other medicines work, especially anticoagulants, platelet aggregation inhibitors and certain other medications.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Since there is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding, this medicine must not be taken during pregnancy.This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding.

Storage

Store the medicine at a temperature not exceeding 30°C and keep it out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister pack.

Composition

One film-coated tablet of Doppelherz system Ginkgo 240 mg contains 240 mg of quantified, refined dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (35 - 67: 1).The extract is quantified to contain 52.8 mg - 64.8 mg flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, 6.72 mg - 8.16 mg ginkgolides A, B and C and 6.24 mg - 7.68 mg bilobalide.The extract contains a maximum of 5 ppm ginkgolic acids.Extractant is acetone 60% (m/m).

The other ingredients are: Croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate (vegetable), microcrystalline cellulose, spray-dried glucose syrup, macrogol 3350, poly(vinyl alcohol), talc, titanium dioxide (E171), iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O (E172).
