Amflee is a veterinary medicinal product for the treatment and prevention of flea and tick infestations in dogs. It contains the active ingredient fipronil and is effective against Ctenocephalides spp. (fleas), Dermacentor reticulatus (ticks) and Trichodectes canis (hair lice). Most hair lice are killed within 2 days and the effect against a new flea infestation remains for up to 8 weeks. Against ticks, Amflee has a persistent acaricidal effect of up to 4 weeks. The veterinary medicine can also be used to control flea allergy dermatitis. There are different dosages depending on the weight of the dog and the application is done by applying the solution to the skin. Side effects are rare and may include transient skin reactions or increased salivation. It is recommended to read the package leaflet before use and consult your veterinarian or pharmacist if you have any questions. The veterinary medicinal product must not be used in puppies under 2 months of age, sick animals or animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substances. After application, contact of the treated animal with other animals should be avoided. Amflee should be kept out of the reach of children and must not enter water.
