Ginkgo AbZ 40 mg film-coated tablets contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves and are used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia. The recommended dosage for adults is three tablets twice daily, for a total of 240 mg of dry ginkgo extract per day. The tablets should be taken with liquid and can be taken independently of meals. No data on dosage are available for children and adolescents and for patients with impaired kidney or liver function. The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks. Possible side effects are headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. The medicine must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or during pregnancy.
