Doppelherz System Melatonin Plus is a food supplement in the form of granulated drink to be taken before bedtime. It contains 1 mg melatonin, which can shorten the time it takes to fall asleep. The product also contains vitamins B6, B12 and niacin, which contribute to the normal function of the nervous system, and magnesium, which contributes to the normal function of nerves and muscles. Other ingredients include lemon balm leaf extract, hop cone extract, lavender flower extract, valerian root extract, L-tryptophan and glycine. The granulated drink has a herbal mint flavour and comes in sachets. It is recommended to dissolve the contents of one sachet in hot or cold water and drink it shortly before going to bed. The product should not be taken for longer than 3 weeks and should not be taken by pregnant women, nursing mothers, children and adolescents. Persons suffering from liver, kidney or autoimmune diseases or taking medicines should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking melatonin. In sensitive individuals, a magnesium dose above 250 mg may have a laxative effect. The food supplement should be stored in a dry place at room temperature. It is lactose- and gluten-free.
