Kneipp Cold Bath Eucalyptus is a traditional herbal medicine for the relief of coughs during colds. It is used as a bath additive for adults, adolescents and children from 4 years of age. The active ingredient in the medicine is eucalyptus oil. The recommended dosage varies according to age: children from 4 to 11 years should take a full bath with 10 ml bath additive 3-4 times a week, while adults and adolescents from 12 years should take a full bath with 10-30 ml bath additive 3-4 times a week. The bath should have a temperature of 35-38 °C and last 10-20 minutes. There are some contraindications, e.g. hypersensitivity to the ingredients, tendency to convulsions or febrile convulsions, bronchial asthma, whooping cough or pseudocroup. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use the medicine. The most common side effects may be skin and mucous membrane irritation. The medicine should be kept out of reach of children and should not be used for more than 6 months after opening. It also contains propylene glycol, which may cause skin irritation.
