Instructions for use for FREESTYLE Lite test strips without coding, 50 pieces
Area of application
Freestyle Lite test strips without coding are test strips for measuring blood sugar. They are suitable for use with the FreeStyle Lite, FreeStyle Freedom Lite, FreeStyle InsuLinx and FreeStyle Navigator II blood glucose monitoring systems. These systems are intended for personal use at home and for use in medical facilities. No prescription is required for this product.
Mode of action
With Freestyle Lite test strips without coding you can measure your blood sugar quickly and easily. The test strips only require a tiny amount of blood of 0.3 µL.The current generation of Freestyle Lite test strips feature ZipWik, which makes blood application easier and blood collection faster. The drop of blood is analyzed on the strip, where the glucose in the blood reacts with the chemicals on the test strip, producing a weak electrical current. The measuring device measures the current over time, calculates the electrical charge and converts this into a blood sugar value.
Dosage
Recommended use of Freestyle Lite test strips without coding: If necessary, you can insert the test strips into the measuring device you use and measure your blood sugar.Clean the test area with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. To bring fresh blood to the surface, rub the test site vigorously for a few seconds until it feels warm.Insert a test strip into the meter. When the prompt to apply blood appears on the screen, take a blood sample using your lancing device and gently touch the blood sample to one of the sample areas on the test strip.
Product information
Freestyle Lite blood glucose test strips are intended for use with FreeStyle Lite blood glucose meters for the quantitative measurement of glucose in capillary whole blood samples from the finger, hand, forearm and upper arm, lower and thigh and venous whole blood. They are used for measurement outside the body for self-testing or for use by healthcare professionals. This product is not intended for diagnosing diabetes mellitus disease, screening for diabetes mellitus, neonatal blood samples, or arterial blood samples. In Germany, the FreeStyle Lite, FreeStyle Freedom Lite, FreeStyle InsuLinx and FreeStyle Navigator II systems are only suitable for self-testing.
Chemical composition
The main ingredients of Freestyle Lite test strips are FAD glucose dehydrogenase (Aspergillus Oryzae) with more than 1.0 units and other ingredients such as buffer and mediator with more than 0.01 mg.
Storage and handling
Store the test strips at room temperature (4°C to 30°C; 40°F to 86°F) and do not expose them to extreme temperatures.Use the test strips only within the system operating temperature range specified in your user manual.Close the container tightly with the cap again as soon as you have removed a test strip from the container.Always use each test strip immediately after removing it from the container.Only store the test strips in the original container as this contains desiccant to protect the test strips. You must not bend, cut or otherwise alter the test strips.Provided that your hands are clean and dry, be careful when removing the test strip from the container or inserting it into the meter.
Limitations
The test strips are for single use only and should not be reused.Use fresh, capillary whole blood from the site selected for testing. Before testing, clean the area with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly.Elevations up to 3,048 meters (10,000 feet) above sea level have no effect. The hematocrit range should be between 15% and 65.
Checking the system
The control solution is used to check the functionality of the measuring device and test strips as well as your test method. If the control solution test result is within the control solution range indicated on the test strip container, the system is operating correctly. If the control solution test result is outside this range, repeat the test.Out-of-range results may indicate improper test performance, expired or contaminated control solution, faulty test strips, or meter malfunction.
Performance characteristics and accuracy
The performance of these test strips has been tested in both laboratory tests and clinical studies. The test range is 20 mg/dL to 500 mg/dL (1.1 mmol/L to 27.8 mmol/L).The test strip is calibrated to display a plasma equivalent blood glucose value for easy comparison with laboratory values. The blood glucose measurement results obtained with capillary blood were compared with the results obtained in the YSI blood glucose analyzer.
