Gingobeta 240 mg is a herbal medicinal product for improving age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia. The film-coated tablets contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves. The recommended dose for adults and elderly patients is 1/2 film-coated tablet twice daily. It should be taken in the morning and evening and can be taken independently of meals. The treatment should last at least 8 weeks. There is no relevant dosing information in children and adolescents or in those with impaired renal or hepatic function. No cases of overdose have been reported. Possible side effects are headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to ginkgo biloba extract or to any of the other ingredients, and during pregnancy. There is no relevant information on the use in children and adolescents and during breast-feeding. The medicinal product should be stored away from heat.
