Mode of action

Area of application

Ibubeta® 400 acute is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothache, menstrual pain and fever.The active ingredient ibuprofen can also help reduce fever and alleviate symptoms in the case of colds or flu-like infections.The product is used for short-term symptomatic treatment.Care should be taken to treat the cause of the pain.If pain persists, medical advice should be sought.

Dosage

The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid, preferably a glass of water, during or after a meal.If you have difficulty swallowing, the tablet can be easily divided.There should be at least a 6-hour gap between doses.

Intake

Please take the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, during or after a meal.For patients with a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the medicine with meals.

Please talk to your pharmacist before taking this medicine.Side effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary.

Elderly patients should be monitored particularly carefully as they may experience more side effects, particularly gastrointestinal bleeding and perforations.

If you have a history of gastrointestinal problems, you should report any unusual abdominal symptoms, especially gastrointestinal bleeding.

Anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen may slightly increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration.

In the event of severe acute hypersensitivity reactions, therapy should be discontinued and a doctor consulted immediately.

Ibuprofen can temporarily inhibit platelet function.Patients with bleeding disorders should be carefully monitored.

If medicines containing ibuprofen are used at the same time, the anticoagulant effect of low-dose acetylsalicylic acid may be impaired.

Prolonged use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.

Drinking alcohol at the same time can increase drug-related side effects.

Children and young people

Ability to drive and use machines

Since central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur when using the drug in higher doses, in individual cases the ability to react can be changed and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and operate machines can be impaired.This is especially true when combined with alcohol.You can then no longer react quickly and specifically enough to unexpected and sudden events.In this case, do not drive a car or other vehicles!Do not operate any tools or machines!Do not work without a secure hold!

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

If pregnancy is discovered while using this medicine, the doctor should be notified.You may only use ibuprofen in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting your doctor.This medicine must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.

The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since there are no known adverse consequences for the infant, it is generally not necessary to interrupt breastfeeding if used for a short period of time.However, if longer use or higher doses are prescribed, early cessation of breastfeeding should be considered.
