Ibubeta® 400 acute is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothache, menstrual pain and fever.

Mode of action

The active ingredient ibuprofen in Ibubeta® 400 acute inhibits the formation of prostaglandins, which are involved in pain transmission.This means that the medicine has an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect.The film-coated tablets are free of gluten, lactose and other animal ingredients.

Ibubeta 400 acute film-coated tablets contains the active ingredient ibuprofen in a dosage of 400 mg per tablet.Excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate, corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, stearic acid, talc and titanium dioxide.

Headaches, toothaches or period pains can occur unexpectedly and significantly affect our ability to carry out usual tasks.Ibubeta® 400 acute can help relieve pain in such moments.The active ingredient ibuprofen is also suitable for colds or flu-like infections to reduce fever and reduce symptoms.The medicine is used for short-term symptomatic treatment.Care should be taken to treat the cause of the pain.If the maximum intake period has to be exceeded, medical advice should be sought.

Dosage

The tablet should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid, preferably a glass of water, during or after a meal.If you have difficulty swallowing, the tablet can be easily divided.If the single dose specified in the package leaflet has been taken, you should wait at least 6 hours before taking the next dose.

Intake

Please take the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, during or after a meal.For patients with a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the medicine with meals.

Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The medicine should also not be used if you have asthma attacks, nasal mucous membrane swelling or skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.Other contraindications include unexplained hematopoietic disorders, existing or recurrent gastric/duodenal ulcers or bleeding, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, cerebral hemorrhage or other active bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart failure, the last trimester of pregnancy and children under 20 kg (6 years).

Patient information

Please talk to your pharmacist before taking this medicine.Side effects can be minimized by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time.Concomitant use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided.Elderly patients require particularly careful medical monitoring as side effects may occur more frequently.

Gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers and perforations may occur during treatment with NSAR .The risk is higher with increasing dose, in patients with a history of ulcers and in older patients.These patients should start treatment with the lowest available dose and consider combination therapy with gastric mucosa-protective drugs.

Anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of a heart attack or stroke.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration.If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol levels, treatment should be discussed with your doctor or pharmacist.

Serious skin reactions have been reported very rarely with NSARtherapy.At the first appearance of skin rashes or other signs of hypersensitivity reaction, the medicine should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted immediately. Use should be avoided during chickenpox infection.

Particularly careful medical monitoring is required in cases of impaired kidney function, liver dysfunction, immediately after major surgical procedures and in the case of allergies or chronic respiratory diseases.Severe acute hypersensitivity reactions are very rarely observed.At the first signs of such a reaction, therapy must be discontinued.

Ibuprofen can temporarily inhibit platelet function.Patients with bleeding disorders should be carefully monitored.If medicines containing ibuprofen are used at the same time, the anticoagulant effect of low-dose acetylsalicylic acid may be impaired.If taken before surgical procedures, the doctor or dentist should be informed.

Prolonged use of painkillers can make headaches worse.In this case, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.Drinking alcohol at the same time can increase the side effects caused by the active ingredient.

Children and adolescents are at risk of kidney dysfunction if they are dehydrated.The ability to drive and use machines may be impaired, especially in higher doses and in combination with alcohol.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.If pregnancy is discovered while using this medicine, the doctor should be notified.You may only use ibuprofen in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting your doctor.This medicine must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.

The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.For short-term use, interruption of breastfeeding is usually not necessary.However, if prolonged use or higher doses are prescribed, early discontinuation of breastfeeding should be considered.

This medicine may affect fertility in women.This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.
