Pantoprazole-ratiopharm® SK 20 mg gastro-resistant tablets
Pantoprazole-ratiopharm® SK 20 mg gastro-resistant tablets help with heartburn and acid belching.The active ingredient pantoprazole reduces stomach acid production and thus effectively relieves the symptoms of reflux.The tablets are gastro-resistant, lactose-free and are ideal for a travel first-aid kit.

Area of application
Heartburn and acid reflux can be triggered by stress and poor diet.These symptoms are often accompanied by a burning feeling in the stomach and esophagus.Pantoprazole inhibits acid production in the stomach and thus reduces symptoms.For a better effect, the tablets should be taken over two to three days.The small tablet size makes it easier to swallow.
Reflux symptoms such as heartburn, sour taste in the mouth, and acid belching occur due to the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus.Pantoprazole-ratiopharm® SK 20 mg enteric-coated tablets specifically reduce stomach acid production and relieve burning and acidic belching.The active ingredient is well tolerated and has a long-lasting effect.If heartburn persists or occurs regularly, the cause should be clarified by a doctor.Long-term lifestyle changes can help prevent heartburn.

One tablet contains 22.6 mg of pantoprazole sodium 1.5-water, which is equivalent to 20 mg of pantoprazole.Other ingredients include calcium stearate, carmellose sodium salt, crospovidone, iron(III)hydroxide oxide x-water, Eudragit L 100-55, macrogol 3350, maltitol, sodium carbonate, sodium carbonate 10-water, phospholipids from soy, poly(vinyl alcohol), talc, titanium dioxide and triethyl citrate.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.The use is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age as there are insufficient data regarding safety and effectiveness.
Dosage
The recommended dose is one tablet daily, taken before a meal.The tablet should be swallowed whole with a little water.It should be taken over at least two to three consecutive days.If symptoms persist after two weeks or if the medication is taken for more than four weeks, medical advice should be sought.
Patient information
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you have had treatment for heartburn or indigestion for four weeks or longer, if you are over 55 years old and treat indigestion with non-prescription medicines every day, if you are over 55 years old and have new or recently changed reflux symptoms, if you have had a stomach ulcer or gastric operation in the past, if you have liver problems or jaundice, if you have severe symptoms orIf you have serious medical conditions, see your doctor regularly if you are scheduled to have an endoscopy or a breathing test called a 13C-urea breath test, if you are scheduled to have a certain blood test (chromogranin A), or if you have ever experienced skin reactions as a result of treatment with a medicine similar to this product that also reduces stomach acid.
Do not take this medicine for more than four weeks without consulting your doctor.Talk to your doctor if reflux symptoms have not gone away after two weeks.Long-term use poses additional risks such as reduced absorption of vitamin B12, hip, wrist or spine fractures and falling magnesium levels in the blood.Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms, which could be a sign of another, more serious condition: unintentional weight loss, vomiting, especially with repeated vomiting, vomiting blood, blood in the stool, difficulty swallowing or pain when swallowing, paleness and weakness, chest pain, stomach pain, severe and/or persistent diarrhea, or rash, especially on areas of the skin exposed to the sun.
If side effects such as dizziness or blurred vision occur, you should not drive or operate machines.The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.No prescription is required for this product.
Notes
Medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium per tablet, which means it is almost “sodium-free”. Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
