Gingobeta 240 mg film-coated tablets are a herbal medicine for improving age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia. The tablets contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves, which promotes blood circulation, provides more oxygen and strengthens the nerve cells. The recommended dose for adults and elderly patients is ½ film-coated tablet twice a day. The tablets should be taken with sufficient liquid and can be taken independently of meals. The treatment should last at least 8 weeks. There are no known cases of overdose. Possible side effects are headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Gingobeta should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, during pregnancy and while breast-feeding.
