Instructions for use for Cartilago/Mandragora comp.ointment
Cartilago/Mandragora comp.Ointment is an anthroposophic medicine used for subacute rheumatic diseases.These include, among others, deforming osteoarthritis in the inflammatory stage as well as primary chronic, deforming joint inflammation (polyarthritis).
Areas of application
This medicine is used according to the anthroposophical knowledge of humanity and nature.It is suitable for deforming osteoarthritis in the inflammatory stage and primarily chronic, deforming joint inflammation (polyarthritis).
Contraindications
Cartilago/Mandragora comp.Ointment must not be used on damaged skin or if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the active ingredients, peanut oil or soy or any of the other ingredients.
Precautions and warnings
The medicine should not be used without medical advice and does not replace other medicines prescribed by a doctor.If conditions occur acutely, for example with redness, swelling or overheating of the joints, as well as if symptoms persist or are unclear, a doctor must be consulted.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used after consulting your doctor.Wool wax can cause localized skin irritation.
Interactions
To date, there are no known interactions with other medications.
Dosage and method of administration
Unless otherwise prescribed, the ointment should be applied to the affected joints once or twice a day.Depending on the size of the joint, an approximately 2 cm long strand of ointment is used for large joints and an approximately 0.5 cm long strand of ointment is used for small joints.For children, the amount should be reduced according to their height.The ointment can also be used as an ointment bandage by applying a 0.5 to 2 cm long strand of ointment to the skin and covering it with a thin cloth.The cloth is then secured with an elastic bandage or stocking.
Duration of application
Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks.If there is no improvement within 2 days, see a doctor.The duration of treatment for chronic diseases should be determined in consultation with the doctor.
Side effects
If you are hypersensitive to components of the ointment, especially peanut oil, serious allergic reactions can rarely occur.If skin redness occurs, possibly associated with itching, use should be stopped and a doctor consulted if necessary.
Composition
10 g of the ointment contains the following active ingredients: Antimonite Trit.D4 0.1 g, Argentum metallicum Dil.D6 0.1 g, Betula pendula ferm 34e Dil.D1 0.1 g, Cartílago articularis bovis Gl Dil.D3 (HAB, Vs. 41b) 0.1 g, Mandragora officinarum e radice ferm 34d Dil.D1 (HAB, Vs. 34d) 0.1 g.Components 2, 3 and 5 are raised to the power together over the last stage.Other ingredients include refined peanut oil, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, white petroleum jelly, purified water and wool wax.
Notes
No prescription is required for this product.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the container and the outer packaging.Do not store/keep above 30 °C!
