Instructions for use of Ferrum quartz hard capsules

Ferrum quartz capsules are an anthroposophical medicine in the form of hard capsules.The active ingredient is the ferrum quartz original substance.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

According to the anthroposophical knowledge of man and nature, Ferrum quartz capsules are used for the following complaints: vascular-related headaches, migraines, complaints after concussion and nervous exhaustion, especially those that are hereditary.

Composition

One hard capsule contains 149.6 mg ferrum quartz original substance.1 g of original substance contains: Ferrum sulfuricum 0.64 g, Mel 0.32 g, Vinum 0.02 g and Quartz 0.16 g.Other ingredients are calcium behenate, cellulose powder, guar, lactose monohydrate and the capsule shell made of gelatin, iron oxide black (E 172) and ammonium caramel (E 150c).

Dosage and application

Always take Ferrum Quartz capsules exactly as your doctor has told you.The usual dose is 1 capsule 1 to 2 times a day, taken whole with a glass of water.Treatment of an acute illness should be completed after 2 weeks.If there is no improvement within 3 days, you should consult a doctor.In the case of chronic illnesses, the duration of treatment should be clarified with the doctor.

Special Notes

Ferrum quartz capsules must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to iron (II) sulfate, honey or one of the other ingredients, in cases of iron storage and iron utilization disorders, in diseases with an increased breakdown of red blood cells and in children under 1 year of age because of the ingredient Mel (honey).Ferrum quartz capsules should not be used in children under 12 years of age as there is no adequately documented experience.

Particular caution is required in the case of inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal mucosa.Talk to your doctor before taking, especially if you are also using dietary or other iron salt supplements.If you have persistent or unclear symptoms, you should consult a doctor.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, Ferrum quartz capsules should only be used after consulting a doctor.

Ferrum Quartz capsules should be taken 1 hour before or between meals as foods can interfere with iron absorption.Iron-binding substances such as phytates, phosphoric acid salts, oxalic acid salts, tannic acids (tea) or coffee inhibit the absorption of iron.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Ferrum Quartz capsules can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Gastrointestinal disorders and constipation occasionally occur.Dark coloring of the stool is common but harmless.In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions such as skin lesions may occur.

Storage

Ferrum quartz capsules should not be stored above 25°C.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the blister pack and carton.
