Ringer's acetate solution B. Braun is an infusion solution that is used for the intravenous administration of fluid and electrolytes.It is used for balanced acid-base balance and mild acidosis of the blood (acidosis), as a short-term volume replacement, for fluid deficiency with normal or low electrolyte concentration in the blood plasma and as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and medications.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The solution contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride 2 H2O, magnesium chloride 6 H2O and sodium acetate 3 H2O.Water for injection purposes is also included.1000 ml of the infusion solution contains 6.0 g sodium chloride, 0.40 g potassium chloride, 0.134 g calcium chloride 2 H2O, 0.203 g magnesium chloride 6 H2O and 3.70 g sodium acetate 3 H2O.

Application and dosage

Ringer's acetate solution B. Braun is administered by a doctor or healthcare professional using a venous drip.The dosage and infusion rate are determined by the treating physician and depend on the patient's individual fluid and electrolyte needs.A fluid intake of 40 ml/kg body mass per day should not be exceeded in adults.

Precautions and contraindications

The solution must not be used if you are allergic to the active ingredients or other ingredients, or if you are overhydrated.Regular checks of electrolyte and fluid balance should be carried out before use.You should speak to your doctor, especially if you have increased potassium, sodium or chloride levels in the blood, heart failure, fluid accumulation in the tissue, high blood pressure, eclampsia or kidney failure.

Side effects and storage

When used as directed, no side effects are to be expected.The solution should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.Only clear solutions in intact containers should be used.Any infusion solution that is not used after one application should be discarded.
