Lubricating gel is a fatty gel used to improve lubrication during sexual intercourse when the vagina is too dry. It contains thick paraffin, medium-chain triglycerides, polyethylene and other ingredients. Application of the gel moisturises the skin of the vagina and the male member without affecting sperm vitality. The gel washes off easily and does not cause discolouration in the linen. Possible side effects are temporary itching, burning and redness. The gel must not be used in case of known hypersensitivity to the ingredients and should not be used at the same time as latex condoms or pessaries.
