Cefasept N is a homeopathic medicine for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract. It is used to relieve discomfort caused by inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. The medicine contains the active ingredients Echinacea Ø, Kalium phosphoricum dil. D4, Lachesis mutus dil. D6 and Hydrargyrum bicyanatum dil. D8. There are certain situations in which the medicine should not be taken, such as hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or other components of the medicine, and in infants and young children. It should also not be used in progressive systemic diseases such as tuberculosis, leukaemia or inflammatory diseases of the connective tissue. The recommended dosage varies depending on the condition and age. In acute conditions, the medicine should be taken every half to full hour, but no more than 6 times a day. For chronic conditions, the recommended dosage is 1-3 times daily. It is recommended to take the medicine undiluted and to keep the liquid in the mouth as long as possible to ensure optimal absorption by the oral mucosa. Side effects may occur, such as salivation or hypersensitivity reactions. In case of prolonged complaints, shortness of breath, fever or purulent or bloody sputum, a doctor should be consulted. The medicine can only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding after consulting a doctor.
