Our son (2) often has a cough at nursery. This cough syrup was recommended to us. It helps and tastes good to our child, so that administering it works without any problems.

This mucolytic is a must-have for us at cold time! Regular use loosens the mucus much better. We've also used Ambroxol AbZ cough syrup, but my children didn't like it as much and it only had half as much active ingredient in the same amount. In contrast, they love the berry flavour of Mucosolvan. Although there is also a "normal" cough syrup for adults from Mucosolvan, I still take the children's syrup. It has the same active ingredient dosage of 30mg/5ml, but is a lot cheaper! Both are alcohol-free and can therefore only be kept for 6 months after opening. Instead of sucralose, the children's juice contains sorbitol, which should be taken into account if you have an intolerance to certain sugars. There is also glycerol and acesulfame potassium in the children's syrup and it tastes like wild berries to children, but otherwise I can't see any difference to the much more expensive adult cough syrup! The dosage is of course the same because the amount of active ingredient is the same.
