Mepitel is a gentle, double-sided wound spacer that has been specially developed to minimize pain when changing dressings.It features Safetac, an original contact layer with silicone adhesion that sits gently on the skin and does not stick to the moist wound.This makes the bandage easy to remove without damaging the skin or wound.This makes changing dressings less painful for patients.Safetac also protects the new tissue and the intact skin and supports the natural healing process.The wound edges are sealed to protect the skin from maceration.The perforated design allows wound exudate to drain into a secondary absorbent dressing.The dressing can be left on the wound and topical treatments can be applied.Due to the integrity of the wound dressing, it can remain on the wound for up to 14 days without disrupting the healing process.

Mepitel allows for truly undisturbed healing as it can remain on the wound for up to 14 days.It leaves no residue and maintains its functional properties permanently.

Areas of application of Mepitel

Mepitel is a non-adhesive wound dressing with a mesh structure that allows exudate to drain away.It adheres well to the skin and protects the tissue.Mepitel is suitable for a variety of exuding wounds, such as skin tears, skin abrasions, sutured wounds, second degree burns, lacerations, superficial and deep skin graft wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, venous and arterial leg ulcers.In addition, Mepitel can be used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds, blisters, fragile skin and exposed fragile tissue.The open structure of Mepitel allows topical ointments to be applied to the wound when clinically indicated.Mepitel can be used in combination with Mesorb or, in heavily exuding wounds, together with Mextra Superabsorbent, with the Tubifast fixation and under compression bandages.It can also be used together with negative pressure wound therapy.
