Directions for use of the article Ketozolin 2% Shampoo: Ketozolin 2% Shampoo contains the active substance ketoconazole and is used in adults and adolescents to treat and prevent dandruff on the scalp (seborrhoeic dermatitis) and scaly brownish patches on the skin (pityriasis versicolor). It is a medicine used to treat skin conditions caused by fungal infections. It works against a variety of types of fungi, including yeasts, by changing the cell membranes of the fungi. The shampoo is applied externally and does not penetrate the body. The recommended dosage and application instructions vary depending on the type of skin condition. For the treatment of scaly patches on the skin, the recommended application is once daily for a maximum of five days. For prevention, the shampoo is used once daily for a maximum of three days before summertime. For seborrhoeic dermatitis on the scalp, the shampoo is applied twice a week at 3-4 day intervals for two to four weeks, or once a week or every fortnight for three to six months for prevention. The shampoo is applied to the affected areas and rinsed thoroughly after three to five minutes. It should be avoided that the shampoo comes into contact with the eyes. There are certain contraindications to the use of Ketozolin 2% Shampoo. It should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or other ingredients of the shampoo.
