GYNOLACT Vaginal tablets are used to support and restore the bacterial balance of the vagina.In the vagina of a healthy woman, lactic acid bacteria are the predominant bacteria.These produce lactic acid, which maintains an acidic environment and thus prevents the growth of harmful bacteria and yeast infections.A reduction in lactic acid bacteria can lead to an increase in anaerobic bacteria, known as bacterial vaginosis.Symptoms of this include excessive, white-greyish discharge with an unpleasant odor.

An imbalance in vaginal bacterial flora is a common and recurring problem in women between 18 and 50 years old.Causes can be antibiotic treatments, mechanical contraception such as the coil, pregnancy, frequently changing sexual partners, menopause or excessive intimate hygiene.Bacterial vaginosis can be treated with vaginal tablets containing lactic acid bacteria.These help to restore the acidic balance of the vaginal flora and normalize discharge.

Vaginal yeast infections, caused by overgrowth of the Candida fungus, can cause severe itching and burning irritation.The discharge is thick, milky and odorless.Although yeast infections are treated with antibiotics, many women suffer from recurring infections.Antibiotics destroy the beneficial lactic acid bacteria and reduce acidity, which promotes the growth of harmful bacteria.Relapses can be prevented by strengthening vaginal lactic acid bacteria.

Dosage and application

To treat bacterial vaginosis: One GYNOLACT vaginal tablet should be inserted deep into the vagina at bedtime for 7 days.

To prevent bacterial vaginosis: One GYNOLACT vaginal tablet should be inserted deep into the vagina at bedtime for 2-3 days.

To regenerate vaginal flora after drug treatment of a yeast infection: One GYNOLACT vaginal tablet should be inserted deep into the vagina before bedtime for at least three days.A GYNOLACTtreatment can be repeated as often as necessary.
