Instructions for use for Zymafluor D 500 tablets, 30 pcs
Area of application
The medicine is used to prevent tooth decay and rickets in infants and small children up to the age of two.It is a non-prescription product.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: colecalciferol and sodium fluoride.Excipients: alpha-tocopherol, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, gelatin, lactose 1-water, magnesium stearate, corn starch, saccharin sodium 2-water, sucrose, colloidal silicon dioxide, soybean oil and vanillin.
Active ingredients in detail
12.5 µg colecalciferol, 500 IE colecalciferol, 0.553 mg sodium fluoride and 0.25 mg fluoride ion.
Contraindications
The preparation must not be used if you are hypersensitive to sodium fluoride, colecalciferol or any of the other ingredients.It is also not suitable for use if there is increased calcium in the blood or urine, limited mobility or if fluoride is already being supplied via drinking, mineral or table water.
Dosage
Infants and small children up to 2 years receive 1 tablet daily.The dosage should take into account the fluoride concentration in drinking water or mineral water.If the concentration is more than 0.7 mg/l, no additional fluoride intake is necessary.
Dosage regimen
For children aged 0 to under 3 years with a fluoride concentration in drinking water or mineral water of less than 0.3 mg/l, the recommended amount of fluoride is 0.25 mg per day.Children aged 3 to less than 6 years receive 0.5 mg of fluoride per day when the concentration in drinking water or mineral water is less than 0.3 mg/l and 0.25 mg per day when the concentration is 0.3 to 0.7 mg/l.Children 6 years and older receive 1 mg of fluoride per day at a concentration of less than 0.3 mg/L and 0.5 mg per day at a concentration of 0.3 to 0.7 mg/L.
Intake
Dissolve 1 tablet in a teaspoon of liquid and administer directly into the mouth.The tablet should never be given undissolved to avoid complications.
Patient information
Particular caution is required for premature and malborn infants.Caries prevention should only begin after a body weight of 3000 g has been reached and when physical development is normal.The administration of the drug is not recommended for children who are fed with balanced diets or whose bottle feed is made with drinking or mineral water that contains more than 0.3 mg/l fluoride.In the case of serious, long-term illnesses, the doctor should consider whether the medicine can be given.If systemic fluoride is administered, toothpastes containing fluoride should not be used in children under 3 years of age.
Pregnancy
This medicine is for children only.
Notes
No prescription is required for this product.If the water used to prepare the infant or young child's food contains more than 0.3 mg fluoride per liter, additional fluoride intake is not necessary.No additional fluoride (tablets or salt) should be given while taking the drug.When taking the medication, toothpaste containing fluoride should not be used.
