Xylocain® pump spray dental is a fast-acting anesthetic spray that is economical to use.It contains the proven active ingredient lidocaine and works after just 1 to 3 minutes with just one spray.The anesthesia lasts about 10 to 15 minutes.The spray is suitable for prophylactic and therapeutic surface anesthesia in the area of the oral cavity and can be used on adults and children from 3 years of age.It tastes pleasantly like banana and is enough for at least 500 uses.Each pack contains a 12 cm long spray cannula for flexible and practical use.

Xylocain® pump spray dental contains the active ingredient lidocaine.0.1 grams contain 10 mg of lidocaine.Other ingredients include banana flavor 85509/H, Givaudan, ethanol 96% (V/V), levomenthol, macrogol 400, saccharin and purified water.

Area of application

The pump spray is used for superficial anesthesia in the area of the oral cavity.It is suitable for adults and children aged 3 and over and can be used both prophylactically and therapeutically.

Dosage

In dentistry, 1 to 2 sprays are usually sufficient, depending on the size of the area to be anesthetized.The smallest dose should always be used to achieve the desired anesthesia.The maximum recommended dose for adults of normal body weight (70 kg) is 20 sprays, which is approximately 200 mg of lidocaine.For children, older people and people in poor general health, the maximum dose should be adjusted accordingly.For children under 12 years of age, a maximum dose of 4 to 5 mg/kg body weight should not be exceeded.

Intake

The pump spray is used in the oral cavity.Any slight burning sensation that may occur during the first application subsides as the surface anesthetic effect occurs quickly.The superficial anesthesia of the oral mucosa occurs after 1 to 3 minutes and lasts about 10 to 15 minutes.After the protective cap has been removed and the spray cannula has been placed on the bottle, the pump spray is ready for use.Each press of the valve button releases approximately 100 mg of spray, which contains 10 mg of lidocaine.The spray should not be sprayed into the eyes.If you accidentally come into contact with your eyes, they should be rinsed immediately with running water.The spray cannula has already been bent into its final shape and should not be changed any further.The end of the spray cannula contains the spray atomizer and must not be cut off.The spray cannulas are intended for single use and should be disposed of after use.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your dentist, doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Lidocaine should only be used during pregnancy if the treating doctor considers it absolutely necessary.To date, there is no evidence of congenital malformations following the use of lidocaine during pregnancy.During breastfeeding, small amounts of lidocaine pass into breast milk, but it is unlikely to pose a risk to the infant.
