Traumon® spray

Traumon® Spray is a medicine for use on the skin.The active ingredient etofenamate belongs to the group of non-steroidal (cortisone-free) anti-inflammatory drugs and has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.

No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Traumon® Spray is used for the external supportive symptomatic treatment of pain, especially acute strains, sprains or bruises in the extremity area caused by blunt trauma, such as sports injuries.It can also be used for pain in the soft tissues near the joint, such as bursa, tendons, ligaments and joint capsules, and for osteoarthritis of the knee joint.

100 mg etofenamate, alpha-[Hexadecyl,(Z)-octadec-9-en-1-yl]-w-hydroxypoly(oxyethylene)-8, diisopropyl adipate, isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 400, 40 mg propylene glycol, water, purified.

Contraindications

Traumon® Spray must not be used if you are allergic to etofenamate, the main metabolite flufenamic acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The preparation should also not be used after previously taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or acetylsalicylic acid, which have triggered allergic reactions such as asthma, shortness of breath, runny nose, swelling or hives.In addition, it must not be used on open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin as well as on eczema, on eyes, lips or mucous membranes, in the last trimester of pregnancy or on children and adolescents.

Dosage

Traumon® Spray should always be used exactly as described or after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.The usual dose is seven sprays four times a day, which are sprayed over a large area of the diseased area and its surroundings.It is advisable to rub the solution in lightly after one or two sprays and let it dry.

The treating doctor decides on the duration of the treatment.For blunt injuries, one week of use is usually sufficient.For rheumatic diseases, a treatment period of three to four weeks is usually sufficient.If symptoms persist, you should consult a doctor.

If you have used more than you should, the spray should be removed and washed off with water.If you use significantly too large quantities or accidentally ingest the product, you should notify your doctor.

Intake

Traumon® Spray is intended for use on the skin only and must not be taken.Before applying a bandage, the preparation should dry on the skin for a few minutes.The use of an occlusive dressing is not recommended.Hands should be washed after applying the product, unless these are the areas to be treated.

Patient information

The spray may only be used under certain precautions and under direct medical supervision if you suffer from asthma, hay fever, nasal mucous membrane swelling or chronic obstructive respiratory diseases.If you are also hypersensitive to other substances, you should avoid direct sunlight and visits to the solarium during the treatment and for two weeks afterwards.

Care should be taken to ensure that children do not come into contact with the areas of skin rubbed with the medicine.The spray can cause discoloration or surface changes on polished furniture or plastics.Therefore, hands should be washed after rubbing or contact with these objects should be avoided.

Pregnancy

In the first and second trimester of pregnancy, Traumon® Spray should only be used after consulting your doctor.The product must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy as an increased risk of complications for mother and child cannot be ruled out.

Since etofenamate passes into breast milk in small quantities, prolonged use of the drug during breastfeeding should be avoided if possible and the daily dose should not be exceeded.To avoid absorption by the baby, breastfeeding mothers should not use the medicine in the breast area.Hands should be washed after use to prevent the infant from coming into contact with the medicine.

Notes

Traumon® Spray is intended for external use only and must not get into the eyes.If symptoms persist, the doctor should be informed.The medicine can cause discoloration or changes in the surface of polished furniture or plastics. Therefore, hands should be washed after rubbing or contact with these objects should be avoided.

Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
