Directions for use of the article Calcium acetate-Nefro 700 mg film-coated tablets: Calcium acetate-Nefro 700 mg is a mineral preparation used to bind phosphate contained in food. This reduces the amount of phosphate that is absorbed into the body. The medicine is used in patients receiving dialysis treatment for severe kidney disease to treat and prevent elevated phosphate levels. Always take Calcium Acetate Nefro 700 mg exactly as described in the leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. The recommended dose for adults is usually 2 film-coated tablets three times a day with meals. These should be taken unchewed with liquid. The dosage depends on the level of phosphate concentration in the blood and should be checked regularly. If necessary, the dosage can be increased gradually, but the maximum daily dose of 9 tablets should not be exceeded. Treatment with calcium acetate Nefro 700 mg is a long-term therapy and requires regular medical supervision.
