Balneum Hermal is a liquid bath additive for the supportive treatment of skin diseases with dry and slightly itchy skin. It is used for skin diseases such as neurodermatitis, psoriasis, ichthyosis, old-age itching and eczema. Balneum Hermal medicinal oil baths form a nourishing lipid film on the skin and restore the skin's hydro-lipid system. This re-greases the skin and strengthens the natural skin barrier. The medicinal product contains refined soya oil and other ingredients such as lauromacrogol 400, N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)oleamide, fragrances, propylene glycol, butylated hydroxytoluene, palmitoyl ascorbic acid and citric acid monohydrate. Balneum Hermal should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. The frequency and duration of use depend on the type and extent of the complaints. The medicinal product should be well distributed in the bath water and applied at a temperature of 36 °C or lower. The duration of the bath should not exceed 20 minutes. After bathing, the skin should only be dabbed lightly. Side effects are very rare and may include allergic skin reactions. If side effects occur, the preparation should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date. Use during pregnancy and lactation is safe. Possible allergic reactions should be reported. The dosage and use of Balneum Hermal should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist.
