Balneum Hermal Plus bath additive is a moisturising medicinal oil bath that can be used for various skin diseases. It contains refined soya oil and polidocanol as active ingredients. The bath additive is used for the supportive treatment of skin diseases associated with dehydration and itching, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), chronic eczema and pruritus of old age. It can also be used for the supportive treatment of psoriasis. Balneum Hermal Plus forms a protective film on the skin, stabilising the natural skin barrier and reducing moisture loss. It also has an antipruritic effect due to the addition of polidocanol. It is applied by adding the bath additive to the bath water or by spreading it on the body before showering. The temperature of the bath water should not exceed 36 °C and the bath time should not exceed 15-20 minutes. For babies and small children, a few minutes are often sufficient. The frequency of application depends on the individual complaints and can be daily or every 2-3 days. Balneum Hermal Plus is well tolerated, but may cause allergic reactions in rare cases. It should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to the ingredients or active substances.
