Areas of application

Balneum Hermal Plus is a medicinal oil bath that is used to support the treatment of skin diseases that are associated with dehydration and are often accompanied by itching.These include atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), chronic eczema, age-related itching and psoriasis.The oil bath forms a protective oil film on the skin, which serves as a temporary protective layer until the skin's lipid layer is restored.It reduces the release of physiological moisturizing factors from the stratum corneum and reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL).Due to the addition of polidocanol, Balneum Hermal Plus has a pronounced anti-itching effect.

Mode of action

Balneum Hermal is finely distributed in the bath water and moisturizes the skin even while bathing.It reduces the release of physiological moisturizing factors from the stratum corneum and reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL).The medicinal baths form a nourishing lipid film on the skin, which greases the skin evenly and thinly and stabilizes the skin's hydrolipid system.

Ingredients

The ingredients of Balneum Hermal Plus liquid bath additive include refined soybean oil, macrogol lauryl ether 6.5 (polidocanol), propylene glycol, palmitoyl ascorbic acid, fragrance (contains D-limonene, linalool) and glycerol (dihydrogen citrate) stearate.

Dosage and application

The frequency of use of Balneum Hermal Plus depends on the type and extent of the symptoms.In general, the baths are taken every 2-3 days, if necessary daily.When bathing, add Balneum Hermal Plus to the bath water and mix it in well.The bath water temperature should not exceed 36 °C.For a full bath (approx. 150 l) use 2-3 measuring cups (30-45 ml), for a children's bath (approx. 25 l) use 1/3 measuring cup (5 ml), and for a partial bath (5 l) use approx. 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml).To shower, distribute Balneum Hermal Plus undiluted over the moistened body and then shower off.After bathing or showering, the skin should only be lightly dabbed with a towel.

Contraindications

The product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or active ingredients.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.There is an increased risk of slipping due to the oil film on the skin and in the bathtub.After each bath, the bathtub should be cleaned immediately with a conventional household cleaner and then rinsed with hot water.

There are no known restrictions for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Please consult your doctor before using Balneum.

Combination with other medicines

Balneum Hermal Plus can be combined with other skin treatment options, such as corticosteroids.The basis here should be the doctor's diagnosis or treatment recommendation.

Allergies

Fragrances are used in the Balneum Hermal oil baths for reasons of cosmetic acceptance.Although these fragrances have not yet been noticed in terms of their allergenic potential, people with a fragrance allergy should not use the oil baths.
