Carotene is a food supplement that is especially suitable for people with sun-sensitive skin and light skin types. It contains important carotenoids that have a protective function for the skin and eyes. The recommended intake is one capsule daily, starting about 4 weeks before sun exposure. One capsule of carotene contains 15 mg of natural carotenoids, including beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin and lycopene. This is a gluten- and lactose-free product with no added sugar. It should be stored at temperatures below 25 °C. The recommended daily intake should not be exceeded. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle. It is recommended to consult a doctor or pharmacist if the product is to be used for more than 8 weeks a year or for heavy smokers.
