Directions for use of the article Pentatop 100 mg Capsules Important information (obligatory data): PENTATOP® 100 mg capsules. Active substance: sodium cromoglicate (Ph. Eur.). Indications: For use in adults, children and infants Anti-allergic for food allergy. Product characteristics: Composition: 1 capsule contains as active substance 100 mg sodium cromoglicate (Ph. Eur.). Other ingredients: Gelatine, microcrystalline cellulose (PH. Eur.), highly dispersed silicon dioxide (PH. Eur.), magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), colourant E171, colourant E172. Dosage: Always use the capsules exactly as directed. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is: adults and adolescents aged 15 and over take 2 capsules (equivalent to a total of 800 mg sodium cromoglicate) four times a day. Children aged two to fourteen years receive one capsule four times a day (corresponding to a total of 400 mg sodium cromoglicate). For babies and toddlers between two months and two years, the daily dose is 20 - 40 mg/kg body weight. If possible, it should be administered in four equal individual doses before each meal. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 5 capsules four times a day in adults and to a maximum of 2 capsules four times a day (corresponding to a total of 800 mg sodium cromoglicate) in children aged two to fourteen years. However, a daily dose of 40 mg/kg body weight should not be exceeded. When the desired effect has been achieved, the dose can be gradually reduced to the level necessary to maintain freedom from symptoms. The attending physician decides on the duration of use. Intake: The capsules should be taken 15 - 30 minutes before meals. Infants and small children should take the capsules dissolved in hot water. They should be taken at as equal intervals as possible. Pregnancy: During pregnancy, you should only use the medicine if the doctor considers it necessary. During breast-feeding, use should also only be made after consultation with the doctor.
