Contraindications

Pentatop 100mg must not be used if you are hypersensitive to sodium cromoglicate or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The use of this medicine cannot currently be recommended for infants in the first two months of life (correspondingly longer for premature babies).

Dosage

Recommended use of Pentatop 100mg: Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: Adults and young people aged 15 and over take 2 capsules four times a day (corresponding to a total of 800 mg sodium cromoglicate).Children between the ages of two and fourteen receive one capsule four times daily (corresponding to a total of 400 mg sodium cromoglicate).For infants and small children between two months and two years, the daily dose is 20 - 40 mg/kg body weight.If possible, it should be administered in four equal doses before each meal.For this purpose, it may be necessary to divide the contents of a capsule into several doses.If necessary, the dose can be increased to 5 capsules four times daily for adults and to a maximum of 2 capsules four times daily for children aged two to fourteen years (corresponding to a total of 800 mg sodium cromoglicate).However, a daily dose of 40 mg/kg body weight should not be exceeded.

Intake

Pentatop 100mg should be taken 15 - 30 minutes before meals.The capsules can either be swallowed whole with a little water or the capsule contents can be dissolved in 2 - 3 tablespoons of hot water.It should be taken at the same intervals as possible, i.e.h.morning, noon, afternoon and evening.For infants and small children, the daily dose should, if possible, be administered in four equal doses before each meal.For this purpose, it may be necessary to divide the contents of a capsule into several doses.
