Cromo-ratiopharm® eye drops single dose are a preservative-free solution to relieve allergic conjunctivitis and protect against allergic symptoms.They are available in sterile single-dose containers of 0.5 ml each.

Area of application

Allergic conjunctivitis can manifest itself as itching, redness, tearing and swelling.These symptoms can be very stressful in everyday life.Cromo-ratiopharm® eye drops single dose are approved for the short or long-term treatment of acute and chronic complaints, for example hay fever, conjunctivitis or spring catarrh.

The active ingredient sodium cromoglicate in the eye drops reduces the release of the hormone histamine, which triggers allergic reactions.As a result, the eye drops offer effective protection against eye problems caused by allergies.

Application

Affected people should usually put one drop into the lower conjunctival sac of the affected eye four times a day.If necessary, the application can be increased up to eight times a day.Contact lenses must be removed before instillation and cannot be reinserted until at least 15 minutes after application.

The preservative-free formulation is particularly gentle on the eyes and is therefore suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.The sterile single-dose containers minimize the risk of contamination and infections and enable hygienic use even on the go.Cromo-ratiopharm® eye drops single dose are suitable for adults, teenagers and children.

Each single-dose container (0.5 ml eye drops) contains 10 mg sodium cromoglicate.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: hypromellose, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid and water for injections.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate.

Dosage

Always use the product as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.Unless otherwise prescribed, one drop should be instilled in each eye four times daily.Children and adults receive the same dosage.

The treatment should be continued even after the symptoms have subsided, as long as the patient is exposed to the allergenic substances.In the event of prolonged use, the need for treatment should be determined by a doctor.

There are no known specific overdose reactions.If you forget to use it, you should continue therapy with the same dosage at the next scheduled time.

If possible, treatment should be carried out regularly for as long as you are exposed to the allergy-causing substances.If you discontinue use, the symptoms can quickly reappear.

Patient information

After instillation, visual acuity may deteriorate for a few minutes due to the formation of streaks.If there is inflammation, you should ask your ophthalmologist whether you can continue to wear contact lenses despite the symptoms.Hard and soft contact lenses must be removed before instillation and not reinserted until 15 minutes after instillation.

If there is a short-term impairment of visual acuity immediately after use, you should not operate machines, work without a secure footing or drive during this time.

Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.

Pregnancy

Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.There is currently no evidence of a teratogenic effect in humans, but the existing experience is not sufficient to make a final assessment of the risk.The active ingredient is excreted in small amounts into breast milk.

For safety reasons, the medicine should not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy or should only be used after careful benefit-risk assessment.Even during the further course of pregnancy and during breastfeeding, use may only be carried out with an appropriate risk-benefit assessment by the treating doctor.
