Sensodyne ProSchmelz Fluorid Gelée Dental Gel is a dental gel for the prevention of caries and to support the treatment of initial caries and hypersensitive tooth necks in adults, adolescents and children from 6 years of age. The gel contains the active ingredient fluoride, which is incorporated into the tooth enamel and increases resistance to acids. It is applied once a week after thorough cleaning of the teeth. When using the gel, make sure that it is not swallowed. An overdose should be avoided. The gel is not a substitute for normal toothpaste. It should be used after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist. Children under 6 years of age should not use the gel due to the risk of swallowing. In case of hypersensitive tooth necks, a dentist should be consulted if there is no improvement or if the tooth necks worsen. The gel is available only on prescription and should be stored away from heat and moisture. The package leaflet contains further information on risks and side effects.
