Instructions for use for elmex® jelly, 25 g
What is elmex® jelly?
Elmex® gelée is a medical toothpaste enriched with fluoride. It is used to prevent tooth decay, treat hypersensitive tooth necks and support the treatment of early tooth decay, also known as initial tooth decay.Hard enamel is essential for healthy teeth, and Elmex® gelée helps strengthen and protect it.
What advantages does elmex® gelée offer?
Elmex® gelée is an important dental gel for caries prevention and can also be used when caries begins.Regular use offers several benefits:
The gel strengthens tooth enamel and supplies sensitive tooth necks with fluoride. It supports the remineralization of the teeth and hardens the tooth enamel. No prescription is required for this product.
How do I use elmex® gelée correctly?
Elmex® gelée should be used once a week in the evening or morning.Apply about 1 cm of gel to the toothbrush and brush your teeth with it.Rinse your mouth thoroughly after use.The total time of application, including exposure time, should not exceed 5 minutes.
Mode of action
Elmex® gelée contains a special dental gel that builds up tooth enamel and forms a fluoride deposit. This provides long-lasting protection against acid attacks and tooth decay. The gel remineralizes the tooth and strengthens it sustainably.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Elmex® gelée contains the following active ingredients: Dectaflur, Olaflur and sodium fluoride.100g of dental gel contains 0.287 g of amine fluoride Dectaflur, 3.032 g of amine fluoride Olaflur and 2.210 g of sodium fluoride, which corresponds to a fluoride content of 1.25%.1 cm of Elmex® jelly (approx. 0.5 g gel) corresponds to 6.25 mg fluoride.
Other ingredients include purified water, propylene glycol, hyetellose, saccharin, apple flavor, peppermint flavor, spearmint oil and menthone flavor.
Area of application
Elmex® gelée is used to prevent caries, to support the treatment of initial caries and to treat hypersensitive tooth necks. It is suitable as a weekly intensive treatment for the whole family and can be used from the age of 6.
Initial caries
Initial caries is an early form of tooth decay in which mineral losses are limited to the tooth enamel and the surface is still intact. It often appears as a chalky white spot.Elmex® gelée can reverse early caries through remineralization and strengthen the tooth from the inside out.
Elmex® jelly for children, teenagers and braces wearers
Children's teeth change from the age of around 6 years. The new, permanent teeth require special protection because their tooth enamel has not yet fully hardened after eruption and is therefore more susceptible to tooth decay.Children and adolescents with braces also have an increased risk of tooth decay due to difficult oral hygiene.Elmex® gelée supports the hardening of tooth enamel and reverses the onset of tooth decay.
Dosage
For adults and children over the age of 6, it is recommended to apply about 1 cm of Elmex® gelée (approx. 0.5 g gel corresponding to 6.25 mg fluoride) to the toothbrush once a week and brush your teeth with it.Rinse after 2 to 3 minutes. The total time of application (cleaning and exposure time) must not exceed 5 minutes. The gel is best used in the evening before going to bed.
Intake
Apply about 1 cm of gel to the toothbrush and brush your teeth with it.After 2-3 minutes you should rinse. The gel should be left in the mouth for at least 2-4 minutes, but no longer than 5 minutes. For the targeted treatment of hypersensitive tooth necks, apply the gel to the affected areas.
Patient information
Particular caution in use is required in patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases.Because of the peppermint oil and spearmint oil content, these patients should consult their doctor or dentist before use. After use, systemic fluoride administration should be withheld for several days.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist. There is no evidence that fluoride poses any risks to the embryo.Fluorides are excreted in breast milk, so the drug should be used with caution during breastfeeding.
Notes
Keep out of the reach of children. After use, tablets to prevent tooth decay or osteoporosis should not be taken for a few days.
