Summary: Elmex Children's Toothpaste contains effective amine fluoride in the recommended fluoride concentration of 1,000 ppm. It makes the teeth more resistant to caries-related mineral breakdown, helps to incorporate dissolved minerals into the enamel and forms a protective layer on the enamel. The fluoride concentration of 1,000 ppm corresponds to the current recommendations of the German Society for Paediatric Dentistry and the German Society for Preventive Dentistry. From the 6th birthday, the use of elmex Junior toothpaste with 1,400 ppm fluoride is recommended. It is important to have regular check-ups with the dentist and to arrange a check-up visit already in the first year of life. The correct amount of fluoride for toddlers and babies is between 500-1000 ppm and should be dosed appropriately for their age. Brushing should be done twice a day with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste. In addition, good habits such as a healthy diet and avoiding excessive sugar consumption are recommended.
