The children's Karex tooth protection gel contains the tooth-related active ingredient BioHAP, which stands for "biomimetic hydroxyapatite".This substance is identical to the material our teeth are made of.The high-dose gel supports caries prevention by forming a protective layer on the tooth.This protective layer makes it more difficult for bacteria to adhere to the tooth and thus effectively protects against tooth decay.

The gel promotes the remineralization of tooth enamel, with BioHAP serving as a natural source of calcium.Plaque and acidic foods remove calcium from the tooth enamel.BioHAP attaches to the tooth surfaces, allowing calcium to be redeposited into the enamel.This process is called remineralization.Due to its high degree of consistency with natural tooth minerals, BioHAP can even remineralize deeper layers of tooth enamel.

Due to its similarity to the body's own tooth mineral, BioHAP is absolutely harmless if swallowed and is therefore suitable from the first tooth onwards.No prescription is required for this product.

In addition to caries prevention after brushing your teeth, the children's Karex tooth protection gel is also suitable for patients with multi-band therapy, i.e. bracket patients.Due to the orthodontic appliances, they often have difficulties in completely removing plaque and therefore have an increased risk of caries, the so-called white spot lesions.

The gel is also suitable for teeth with MIH, i.e. molar incisor hypomineralization.These teeth do not have fully mineralized enamel.Additional regular remineralization is important to protect the tooth and prevent sensitivity.BioHAP accumulates on the teeth and tooth necks and thus also helps with pain-sensitive teeth.

Application

The tooth protection gel is suitable for children from the first tooth onwards and is applied to the teeth with a finger or toothbrush every day after brushing.The application can be repeated if necessary.Please note that the gel does not replace daily tooth brushing, but should be used in addition.

Expert tip

The longer the gum protection gel works, the more effectively the tooth enamel can be remineralized.It is therefore recommended to apply the gel in the evening after brushing your teeth and leave it on overnight.This way the effect can unfold optimally.
