GC Tooth Mousse is a water-based cream that contains bioavailable calcium and phosphate.The active ingredient Recaldent™ is obtained from milk protein, specifically casein.Milk and dairy products are known to protect teeth, and research has shown that this is due to casein phosphopeptide (CPP).This carries calcium and phosphate ions in the form of amorphous calcium phosphates (ACP). GC Tooth Mousse is the first product for professional use to contain this CPP-ACP-complex, which is considered an ideal supplier of bioavailable calcium and phosphate ions.

CPP-ACP was developed at the School of Dental Science at the University of Melbourne in Australia.Recaldent™ is a trademark under license.No prescription is required for this product.It should not be used in people with allergy to milk protein or hydroxybenzoates.

Natural defense against tooth decay

GC Tooth Mousse provides a natural defense against tooth decay and is suitable for patients who are at low to medium risk of tooth decay, have demineralized areas, suffer from hypersensitivity before and after teeth whitening, have undergone professional root scaling or cleaning or for children under six years of age.

GC Tooth Mousse is a cream with bioavailable calcium and phosphate.It is used by or under the control of dental professionals for the indicated indications.The cream contains Recaldent™ (a CPP-ACP: Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate), which when used binds to plaque, biofilms, bacteria, hydroxyapatites and soft tissue and releases bioavailable calcium and phosphate.The effect of CPP-ACP is increased by saliva, with the taste promoting salivation.The longer CPP-ACP and saliva remain in the mouth, the better the result.

GC Tooth Mousse creates extra protection for the teeth, helps neutralize acids from acid-producing bacteria in plaque, and assists in neutralizing other acids in the mouth.

Indications

GC Tooth Mousse is used before and after in-office bleaching, after ultrasonic or manual tooth cleaning and after dental cervical treatments, after professional tooth cleaning, after the application of topical fluorine, as surface protection for patients with erosions, xerostomia or Sjögren's syndrome, during orthodontic treatment, at high risk of caries and for patients with special needs.

Application in practice

Application can be done with an individual spoon or without a spoon.When using a spoon, it is cleaned after bleaching, filled with a generous portion of GC Tooth Mousse and applied to the upper and/or lower jaw.The spoon remains in the mouth for at least three minutes, then the remains are distributed with the tongue and kept in the mouth for at least one to two minutes.Remains are carefully spit out and the patient should not eat or drink again for at least 30 minutes after treatment.

When used without a spoon, distribute a sufficient amount of GC Tooth Mousse onto the tooth surface using a swab, glove or interproximal brush.The process is similar to using with a spoon, with a reaction time of at least three minutes and then distribution with the tongue.

Home use

GC Tooth Mousse can be used daily after brushing your teeth or in the evening after brushing your teeth as recommended by your dental professional. A sufficient amount is applied to the upper and lower jaw, left undisturbed for at least three minutes and then distributed with the tongue.Remains are carefully spit out and the patient should not eat or drink again for at least 30 minutes after application.

Flavors and storage

GC Tooth Mousse is available in strawberry, melon, vanilla, mint and tutti-frutti flavors.It should be stored in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight, at 8-25°C.The shelf life is two years from the date of production.

Notes

GC Tooth Mousse should not be used in patients with milk protein allergy or allergy/sensitization to preservatives containing benzoate.The tube should always be closed immediately after use and any paste residue or moisture on the tube neck or cap should be removed.In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with running water and seek medical help.Splashes on clothing can be washed off with water.If symptoms of angioedema occur, treatment should be stopped immediately and the patient should be referred to a medical professional.
